Steven Crabtree serves as Manager of Operational & Process Excellence at Above-Average Returns, a position he has held since July 2018. In this role, he leads strategic initiatives focused on operational efficiency, process optimization, financial performance, and organizational effectiveness. His expertise spans finance, accounting, corporate governance, operational leadership, and business transformation across North American markets.

Prior to joining Above-Average Returns, Mr. Crabtree served as Director of North American Operations for SoftX Technologies from 2013 to 2018. During his tenure, he played a key leadership role in the company’s growth strategy and was instrumental in supporting SoftX’s successful Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) in 2015.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Crabtree held executive financial leadership positions with Protocol Technologies, serving as Chief Financial Officer from 2011 to 2013 and Corporate Controller from 2009 to 2011. In these roles, he oversaw financial reporting, corporate planning, internal controls, and strategic financial management initiatives that supported the company’s expansion and operational objectives.

From 2005 to 2009, Mr. Crabtree held a series of progressively responsible leadership positions with Dawson Creek Exploration & Production, including Assistant Controller, Controller, and Vice President of Finance & Accounting. Throughout his tenure, he contributed to the company's financial growth, operational scalability, and corporate governance initiatives across Canada and North America.

Mr. Crabtree earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Toronto Scarborough, graduating with a double major in Finance and Monetary Economics. He subsequently completed a Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) at the University of Toronto Scarborough and earned his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. Prior to beginning his professional career, he also obtained the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.

 

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. Crabtree enjoys coaching youth hockey and remains actively involved in mentoring and community engagement initiatives.
